EBSCO HOST databases: What Is So Great about EBSCO?
Did you know that your kids can read many magazines through Kid's Search and Searchasaurus?
There are hundreds of magazines, but here are a few: Time for Kids, Ranger Rick, Zoobooks, National Geographic Little Kids, National Geographic Kids, National Geographic Traveler, Boys' Life, Field & Stream, National Parks, Ladybug, Outdoor Life, Scholastic News, Discover, Weekly Reader, Stone Soup, Science World, Click, Sports Illustrated, Horse & Rider, and Time.
Click on Kid's Search or Searchasaurus for information on health, animals, history, science, art, and music. Try an Advanced Search to narrow responses. Search by topics with "and" to combine two terms. Use the lexile level to adjust the reading level. If you want current articles, you can search by adding dates.
For parents, check out the Small Engine Repair Reference Center. Access service manuals for small engines, marine and boat motors, motorcycles, outdoor power equipment, personal water craft, snowmobiles, and tractors. There is a Consumer Medical Reference to access information about medications and conditions. In that database, you can look up medical terms in the Merriam-Webster's Medical Desk Dictionary. Medical professionals may want to search through the academic journals such as the Journal of Nursing Knowledge, Journal of Clinical Nursing, and Nursing Inquiry. In the Consumer Medical Reference, searches can be narrowed by Academic Journal, Encyclopedia, or Evidence-Based Health Report. To switch back and forth between databases, click on the choose databases tab at the top.
Researching for assignments and simply answering why is safe and credible when using the EBSCO databases.
